With over 15 years of experience in the fields of engineering and firearms, I bring a unique blend of technical expertise and investigative skills to my work in forensic ballistics and security analysis. My journey began with formal training as a gunsmith, where I honed my craftsmanship and deep understanding of firearm mechanics. This foundation was further solidified through academic studies in engineering, providing me with the analytical and problem-solving skills essential for high-level forensic investigation.
After my training as a gunsmith and alongside my study in mechanical engineering, I established a firearms dealership business, offering services in the importation, restoration and repair of an extensive range of firearms. I gained authorisation from the UK Home Office to trade in prohibited weapons in 2019.
Building on this, I pursued postgraduate qualifications in Firearms Investigations and Forensic Ballistic Investigation with Cranfield University. These specialised studies equipped me with the advanced knowledge necessary to analyse complex firearm-related cases, from ballistic fingerprinting to the identification of 3D-printed firearms and readily convertible imitation, blank firing and airguns.
My professional career includes significant contributions to law enforcement in New Zealand, where I was employed as the Border Armourer for the National Organised Crime Group. In this role, I led critical initiatives in border security evaluation, focusing on preventing the illicit private manufacture and trafficking of firearms and parts. My work has been instrumental in developing strategies to combat the evolving threats posed by modern firearm technologies, including the analysis of 3D-printed weapons and other unconventional firearms.
Throughout my career, I have remained committed to advancing my expertise and staying at the forefront of forensic ballistics and firearms classification. This dedication allows me to provide precise, reliable, and cutting-edge services to clients across law enforcement, legal, and security sectors.
